Marth Marcy May Marlene boasts an intriguing premise with a subtle exploration of trauma and reflection. The film is lensed and acted well but ultimately it all results in a big tease. The subtlety does work in regards to the acting and dialogue but towards the end of the film, you realise that you hardly know any of the characters.
