The only designated bike lane on Madeline Island is on Middle Road from downtown La Pointe to Big Bay State Park. Located 6.5 miles from downtown, Big Bay State Park offers swimming, picnicking, hiking and camping. Decided once we got to Madeline Island we decided to rent Mopeds last minute. Got there at like 9:30 and still had lots of mopeds.. This can be pricy but it's the only place that rents bikes, tandem bikes or mopeds. They rent for around $65 for the day. Tandem bikes were very uncomfortable and harder to steer. Mopeds are around $30 an hour.
