One of the things I knew I wanted to do was to have an introduction letter with the Elf on the first day. I felt like this was the best way for our daughter to be able to understand how the Elf on the Shelf works while maintaining that the Elf was sent straight from Santa himself! I chose to pretend that I did not know anything about the Elf.
