Allen Old Stone Dam. One of the most well-known landmarks in Allen is the Old Stone Dam. This dam has a ton of history behind it. It was built in 1874 to provide water for steam locomotives. In 1912, a larger dam was built downstream and the Old Stone Dam was submerged for almost 60 years. It has since been designated as a Texas State.
