Watercress Line Thomas the Tank Engine this Easter for its 75th anniversary
The line's name comes from the fact that the new railway enabled watercress farmers in Alresford to rapidly transport their produce to market. During both World Wars, the line carried military traffic between the army town of Aldershot and Southampton.
