The church can seat 600 people and it has a day chapel which can seat 60 people. In the year 2000, while Father Hannon was parish priest, a Prayer and Peace garden was developed in the church grounds to mark the Jubilee Year. Saint Patrick's Church, Killesher. The foundations of the present church in Kinawley (built on the 'Barrack Acre', thanks to the generosity of Edward Maguire) were sunk and work commenced around the feast of Saint Naile in 1874 and was solemnly dedicated by Bishop Nicholas Conaty on 19 February 1876.. St. Mary's, Swanlinbar was s 130 years old in 1958 and was in urgent.
