What I'm trying to say is that, however good this update was (and it was), it's forever tainted by its greater, inseperable context. iirc TF2 was getting ~30k active players before the update dropped, then jumped up to like 75k when it did. That was record-breaking, at least for that time frame.

Jungle Inferno didn't really improve performance (although, IIRC, it didn't make it any worse), but Valve's map (Mercenary Park) was pretty decently optimized so it never had strange performance issues where it shouldn't have had them.
