25 May 2023 Named after the famous Spanish painter, this business class lounge is available to customers at Barcelona El Prat Airport travelling to non-Schengen destinations from Terminal 1. As this lounge is after passport control it is only open to those travelling from gates D and E.

Overall, the Sala VIP Joan Miro lounge in Barcelona El Prat Airport is an excellent spot to relax before your flight or, dare I say it, even get some work done. Other airlines that offer access to this lounge include OneWorld alliance members American, Qatar, Royal Jordanian, Iberia, LATAM, & S7. The lounge is located in the non-Schengen part of Barcelona El Prat Airport's Terminal 1. This is the terminal used by British Airways and Iberia, as well as a number of other international airlines. I haven't previously flown out of Barcelona - only in - and was pleasantly surprised by the experience.

The Joan Miro lounge is a 3rd party lounge, meaning it is not managed by any airline or alliance. However, almost all business/first classes have access to it, as well as Star Alliance Gold members. I believe, based on the sign out front, every alliance member with status has access to this lounge, as well as Priority Pass members.
