Velvet Teddy is a Matte lipstick, but it's not very drying and glides on smoothly, unlike let's say MAC Ruby Woo. Although, I don't think this lipstick can be worn over chapped lips, as because of its color, it'll really highlight the dryness of one's lips.

They are a little bit different on the lips, as well. But it is not very noticeable! I wouldn't say Trendsetter is a spot-on dupe, but it is darn close. I do prefer the creaminess of Velvet Teddy, it glides on a little easier. I would say if you do not want to spend on the MAC lipstick ($23 CA), Rimmel is the way to go (around $8 CA).
