According to the badge on the trunk lid, this a quite rare 1995 Volvo 850 T-5R, one of only 5,500 made during a one-year-only run before morphing into the 850R. The T-5R was developed with the help of Porsche and, with 243 hp on tap, was quite the hot brick in 1995. It looks authentic, except for one possible minor question:

As a Volvo person explained to me, when the T-5R Yellow 850 T-5Rs came to the U.S., Volvo dealers couldn't move them, and a lot of them ended up as company cars. A lot of people apparently.

Cream yellow was only used in model year 1995 for the Volvo 850 line, and only on the T-5R variant. 364 sedans imported to the United States, that's it. 49 wagons imported to the United States, that's it.
