Lee Krasner (1908-1984) was an American artist who was part of the abstract expressionist group. Krasner was also the wife of abstract expressionism's leading light, Jackson Pollock. Lena Krassner (who changed her name first to Lenore, then to Lee, Krasner) was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Oct. 28, 1908, to a Russian Jewish immigrant family.
