The beach is one of the most iconic of Cape Town Beaches. It is a beautiful beach with white sand that stretches almost a kilometre in length and half a kilometre in places.

Hout Bay should be fabulous but it just does not deliver. The shopping mall lacks any real quality, the harbour is dirty and desperately needs investment and the beach is a disgrace. The white sandy stretch of sand from the harbour to Chapmans Peak should be the jewel in the crown but it isn't. The beach is dirty, covered in litter and refuse.
