Excellent review and photos. Thank you. I had originally thought this model may be too large (having previously owned the smaller Outdoor Protect), but now knowing it has relatively short lug-to-lug distance, feel it would look fine on my 7.25" wrist.

After wearing my OutDoor for more than 2 months, I did not encounter any rust issue on the case, yet. So far, the rust usually appear on the clasp portion, especially on the diver extension. I have a Damasko with hardened bracelet, bought about 1 month after the Archimede.

Oddly enough, the Archimede Outdoor Protect features a hardened steel case, with a 1200 vickers surface while the 556i does not.. is $1,130 on a leather strap (up $40 since our review), the DA36 is $1,200 ($1,320 as shown in PVD) and the Outdoor Protect on a hardened bracelet is €596.64 (w/o VAT) or about $760. The $300 - $400 difference.

The Archimede brand is relatively new, and was created in the early 2000s. I recently came across a listing for the Outdoor Protect 39 and I couldn't pass on this watch as it has been on my radar for 5-6 months now. As a side note, Mike Stuffler has a lovely gallery of photographs from his and Bhanu Chopra's visit to the Ickler Company in 2017.

By golly, the Archimede Outdoor Protect is a sport watch….which also moonlights as a field watch….that might be viewed as a tool watch. 200 meters of water resistance, hardened case, "diver" extension, screw down crown, matte black dial, super legible dial markings, very good lume….all hallmarks of a no-nonsense design for everyday.
