And that's true, but the solution is quite simple and elegant. TJ Wranglers use a 5"x4.5" (5×114.3mm) bolt pattern rim, with -25.4mm of offset. While JK Wranglers use a 5"x5.

#1 · Jul 8, 2010 A co worker of mine has a TJ and was interested in buying my stock JK wheels and tires. They are 17'' Moab's with 32'' Goodyear SR-A tires with 26,000 miles. Will these fit without a lift? Also, he has the base 3.0something gears and a manual tranny. Will he drive ok with this setup? He doesn't do serious offroading.

The wheels that come on a JK Rubicon are 44.45mm positive offset. Offset is measured in millimeters and is the distance between the hub mounting surface and the centerline of the wheel. One important thing to understand is that the JL uses a bigger size wheel lug nut, a M14X1.5mm. Not a huge difference to the 1/2" of the TJ or JK. Most all the wheel adapters I found on the internet were using a half inch lug nut to mount the adapter to the Jeep, and a half inch stud for mounting the tire to the adapter.
