I have an FX-6300 paired with the rx 480. If I do not overclock the cpu, there is bottlenecking for sure. But even with a mild overclock to 4.1 and 4.2, the bottlenecking disappears. I know you have the 470, but just to give you reference, your setup should be less affectes by bottlenecking if you overclock the cpu. Edit: grammar.

I have an FX-4100 and have just upgraded GPU from GTX 660 to RX 480. Its really really good, well worth it. Some games wont be able to take advantage, some will, but you know this and accept it. Just get it, youll love it. I also debated upgrading to a better FX processor, and decided against it.. its just not going to be worth the cost.
