I can't quite put my finger on it, maybe it's just nostalgia talking but in my opinion DMC4 gameplay feels more brutal and fun compare to DMC5. Both are great game, but 4 is slightly better imo. There is a reason the Pro community prefers DMC4. DMC4 is the pinnacle of the franchise when it comes to gameplay, and this is thanks to the cheer.

185 Kollie79 It's actually quite interesting because DmC:DE is arguably a better enhanced version, it added so much quality of life improvements to the original console version, and actually fixed issues the game had While DMC4:SE just added new characters, which only made the games flaws more apparent.

SquatsForMary • 2 yr. ago Gameplay wise, DMC4 is easily the more nuanced and polished experience. DMC: Devil May Cry's combat could never stack up to it. That being said, DMC still has fun combat that's a lot more beginner friendly. Not bad, just not as much depth. If you liked DMC3's combat you'll definitely like 4's.
