Sverd i fjell (literally 'Swords in Rock') was a non-negotiable landmark on my Stavanger list from the very start. As soon as I knew I was going to Stavanger, I started looking for things to see and places to visit. As soon as I came across a photo of the Viking swords I knew I had to see them.

The Three Swords (Sverd i Fjell) stand on the edge of Hafrsfjord, 6km from the centre of Stavanger. Enjoy a 1km stroll along the promenade at sunset. Great place for rollerblading and easy cycling for kids. You will probably witness that strange Norwegian sport of skiing on wheels here!
