Per raggiungere la Cascata di Piscina Irgas possiamo passare da due strade differenti: Villacidro e Domusnovas. Passando da Villacidro si arriva in macchina fino alla località Cantina Ferraris, area Montimannu. Si lascia lì la macchina e si prosegue a piedi.

All'ingresso di Villacidro, un cartello in legno conduce a Montimannu, oltrepassando diversi masi e attorno al bacino del Lago di Lerni. Sempre seguendo le indicazioni per Montimannu, la strada diventa sterrata con talvolta grandi buche. Superata la Forestale Serci, la strada si restringe e un ponte in cemento armato attraversa il fiume Lerni.
