Biography. Draughtsman, printmaker and book illustrator; born Leitmeritz, Bohemia 1877, and spent much of his youth in Zell-am-See; died Zwickledt, Upper Austria 1959. Abused as a child, Kubin suffered various mental crises during his life and is best known for disturbingly mysogonistic and dream-like pen and wash drawings of death, sickness.
