The Hexanon / Hexanon AR 21 mm / F4 is of very good optical quality and renders sharp images with high contrast. Vignetting is visible with this exteme wide-angle lens, but is not too disturbing.. The 21mm f/4.0 is not Konica's widest wide angle lens, they did make a 15mm f/2.8 UC Fisheye. The 21mm f/4.0 was made in all 3 major variants.

The Hexanon 35-70/4. is Konica's second zoom in this focal range. It's a solidly-built lens, in contrast to its successor, the Hexanon 35-70/3.5-4.5. It's a two-touch zoom that is pleasant to use. Its optical performance is not quite equal to excellent standards of the previous 35-70 zoom, but it is still extremely good for a zoom lens.

In his comprehensive website , Jean-Jacques Granas discusses the collaboration between Konica and Tokina, that began in the late 70's and continued probably to the very end of the Konica SLR system in 1987. In addition to the 21mm lens, I own another two of the primes that were born of this collaboration - the 24mm f/2.8 and 40mm f/1.8.
