First Impressions Fujifilm X100s The Phoblographer

The x100 was a capable camera in its own right, at least for when it came it. Even considering its slow autofocus and other quirks. The x100s has improved autofocus and image quality over the x100. While the x100s is a good camera, it can still be frustrating at times. During the day it focuses well. It's not mind-blowing, but it performs.

Fujifilm X100s Review Introduction Reviews

X100S @ 23mm, ISO 200, 1/90, f/2.0. The stylish retro design of the camera is certainly one of the factors that attract so many people to the Fuji X100S. Having a similar look like old film rangefinders / compact SLRs, the Fuji X100S is a very appealing instrument with a unique "character" to it.

Review Fujifilm X100S WIRED

The X100S sees Fujifilm revisiting the concept, but while the external design is essentially unchanged, it's a very different camera inside. It uses a 16.3MP X-Trans CMOS sensor similar to that seen in the interchangeable lens X-Pro1 and X-E1 models, but now with on-chip phase detection promising much-improved autofocus speed. This is supported by a new processor, the 'EXR Processor II', which.

Fujifilm X100S Review X100S Overview

Something that grabs your attention and demands that you take a closer look. X100V did that, but X100VI does not. X100Z, X100R, X100X, X100G—names like that—stand out much more than X100 VI, X100 VII, X100 VIII, X100 IX, etc.; one set it exciting and imaginative and surprising, while the other is boring and clinical and routine.

The Fuji X100S is priced at around £1,099 / US$1,299 / AU$1,299, putting it in the same sort of price bracket as the Nikon Coolpix A. The camera's 16.3MP sensor is coupled with a new EXR.

The $15 JJC Fuji X100S Filter Adapter is swell. It's well made, dull black on the inside and silver on the outside to sort of match the X100S (all these adapters work on both the X100 and the X100S ). This adapter is well machined and works fine. The $9 EZPhoto X100S Adapter feels like junk by comparison.

Autofocus Performance and Accuracy. I was pretty excited to test the X100S and its innovative approach with incorporating phase detection sensors right on the X-Trans CMOS II sensor. Fuji claimed that the X100S got a dramatic increase in AF performance compared to the X100, X-Pro1 and X-E1 cameras, thanks to the phase-detection autofocus system.

Fujifilm X100s Review

The bodies of the Fuji X100 and X100S are the same size, weight and form, with the same button positioning. The X100S looks great, and is well made, with a solid metal top-plate and dials. 'Made in Japan' is etched onto the rear and bottom of the camera. The textured leather exterior both looks and smells the part.

Successor to the popular X100 camera, the Fujifilm Finepix X100S is a new compact camera that's still quite unlike any other available today. Featuring a retro design that bears more than a passing resemblance to the Leica M-series, the X100S is a blend of old and new, bringing together a very traditional control system with some distinctly cutting edge features.
