So, Persona is pretty blatantly inspired by JoJo, there's too many obvious homages and such for that not to be the case, but I've been unable to find any direct, concrete confirmation from any developer at Atlus that this is true. Is there any interviews or something that I missed where somebody at Atlus talks about JoJo's influence on Persona?

The Arcana came from Part 3 of Jojo, as did the Personas. The Evokers for P3 came from Star Platinum's first appearance when Jotaro shoots himself in the head. The plot of P4 is basically the plot of JoJo part 4. What is Jojo, I always hear people talk about it but I'm not sure what it is.

Both are guarding spirits that have different ideas behind their concepts. Stands are the anthropomorphic manifestations of one's powers. Persona concept is clearly inspired by JJBA. But they are more like deity who manifest themselves as a part of the users psyche. The rules how they work and utilized are different.
