Fuji Superia X-TRA 400, an appreciation. With Fuji (not)Film's continued, and continual, discontinuing of various great film stocks, it may seem odd to sing its praises, but they really do/did make some great film. Even the cheap consumer stuff is really quite good, and very versatile.

Fuji Superia Premium 400 is a Japan-only film. I haven't used it myself, but Fuji Japan markets it as being optimized for Japanese skin tone. It has no "cyan sensitive layer." Compared to Superia X-Tra 400, Superia Premium 400 responds to longer wavelength, wider red light. Hope this helps.

I've shot Fujifilm Superia X-tra 400 a fair amount of times thanks to a lot of hearty recommendations I've heard about it, and low price and ease of availability. I've heard it referred to as a competitor to Portra 400. But I've never really been satisfied with the scans I get back - it almost always looks so green in the shadows.
