I was the lead character artist on the character creation system for Elite Dangerous, Frontier Development's PC/PS4/XB1 space sim game. I modelled the base female head and then all the blendshapes that allow you to tweak the proportions of your character's face - change the shape and position of the eyes, nose, mouth, ears, jawline, and on and on.

What about character creation? Okay, so I'm pretty sure none of us want Elite to turn into a cliche MMORPG WoW kind of game. But I think it could be really cool if players could create and customize their own character, purely for cosmetic purposes and immersion.
