The Mitsubishi L300 4×4 has a cult-like following in the world of overlanding, and for good reason. This "small but mighty" vehicle is built on a modified Pajero chassis and thus benefits from the go-anywhere performance of a proper 4WD, whilst offering the space and functionality of a short wheelbase van. I love compact overland vehicles.

For the monocoque '87-onwards shape L300 you'd need a 4WD drivetrain (gearbox, transfer case, axles), 4WD front suspension and subframes, and a 4WD L300 body shell to bolt it all to. (The 4WD L300 body shell has different front chassis rails to the 2WD version). For the earlier, separate chassis models it's probably an easier swap, but I don't.
