La Portada del Reloj de la catedral es la obra más importante de la escultura toledana del siglo XIV. En el tímpano se desarrollan escenas de la vida de Cristo y de la Virgen, representadas en cuatro fajas.

El primer modelo de estas características fue la Puerta del Reloj de la Catedral de Toledo, también llamada de los Reyes Magos, de la Chapinería o de la Feria; se realizó entre finales del siglo XIII y principios del XIV. Según Azcárate, el modelo alargado del parteluz y de las jambas es sintomático de una importante evolución artística.

La Puerta del Reloj, datada en los primeros años del S. XIV, es la más antigua de todas las portadas que presenta la Catedral Primada, se encuentra situada en el transepto septentrional del templo. Como curiosidad hemos de recordar las diferentes denominaciones que ha tenido esta maravillosa portada de estilo gótico: Puerta de la Chapinería.
