With around 110 tombs, the Necropolis de Son Real is one of the most important funeral sites in Majorca. As you walk through the cemetery you'll see graves dating back to the 7th century, so take your time as you imagine life on the island many centuries ago. During excavation in the 1950s, around 300 bodies were found at the Necropolis.

The excavation campaign at the Son Real necropolis in the Municipality of Santa Margarita will end on July 2 after 23 years. The burial ground sprawls over some 800,00 square metres on the Punta des Fences in the Bay of Alcudia and was built between the 7th Century BC and 1st Century BC.
