The Philodendron McDowell (Philodendron pastazanum x Philodendron gloriosum) is a member of the Araceae or Aroid family. John Banta invented this cultivar in 1988 and named it after his friend, Dean McDowell. Banta crossed Philodendron pastazanum and Philodendron gloriosum. These parent species come from Columbia, Ecuador, and Peru.
