Re: Expansion chamber - ETZ 301. Dont waste your money. Expansion chambers are great if you have a racing 2-stroke, and want your power over a narrow rev-band. Etz 301 ignition question. I picked up an Etz301 (not a kanuni) recently for not a lot of money, that I want to use in my newly (reconditioned and powder coated) 301 frame. The trouble is that I am using an Etz251 with points as the parts donator but the 301 engine has the later model electronic ignition, not points.

Posted: 01:21 - 22 Mar 2010 Post subject: bare in mind any comments regarding the ETZ250 to ETZ300 conversion dont apply to 251-301. The 300 was a conversion by the importer and used a special piston. The 301 was a factory model. Buy a barrel and piston and head for the 301.

As far as two strokes go, MZs are very low strung (23 horsepower ish) and will cover surprising mileages before needing any attention. I put 20k on my turkish made kanuni 301 (licence copy of the etz301) without needing to touch the motor. The gearbox is a bit agricultural and the motor vibey.
