Manon Lescaut is the third opera of Puccini, his first real masterpiece. The Tuscan composer was 35 years of age when the opera made its triumphant debut at the teatro Regio di Torino, on February 1st 1893. A few days later (February 9th) at the Scala in Milano was staged Falstaf, Verdi's last Opera.
