Prairie Dog Central Travel Manitoba

The Prairie Dog Central Railway takes you on a journey from the "big city" to rural Manitoba. Departing the Inkster Junction Station, the route follows a former Canadian National Railways line that goes by the Hitch 'n Post, on to Grosse Isle and to Warren, where the track terminates.

The Prairie Dog Central Railway uses one of the oldest running steam locomotives in Canada. Their coaches are all around 100 years old, and the Inkster Junction station in northwest Winnipeg is over 100 years old. In the early 1970s, the railway used an abandoned CNR track in southwest Winnipeg that is now the Harte Trail.

Parking at Dockweiler State Beach costs between $7 (weekday, low season) and $9 (weekend, low season) and $9 (weekday, high season) $13 (weekend, high season) and there are no in/outs. If you leave the lot, you must pay again to enter. There is limited street parking on Vista del Mar, but take note of the parking signage.

Praire Dog Central Railway Route - Inkster Junction Station. nkster Junction Station is located on Prairie Dog Trail, on the north side of Inkster Boulevard between Sturgeon Road and Route 90. Immediately north of Winnipeg's Airport, it is accessible from any direction.
