When it opened in 1969 The Bull and Finch Pub was just like any other bar in the Beacon Hill area of Boston, Massachusetts. Over the years, it began to grow in popularity due primarily to its friendly staff and loyal clientele. The bar became known as a place where everybody knew your name.

Established in 1969 by Thomas A. Kershaw, the bar where everybody knows your name was originally the Bull & Finch Pub, named after Boston-born architect Charles Bulfinch, who designed the U.S. Capitol as well as the Massachusetts State House (along with many other buildings).

Cheers used to be the Bull & Finch Pub and there is still signage with both names. It is right in downtown Boston; across from Boston Common on Beacon Street. It is definitely a trip down memory lane, jam packed with photos and memorabilia from the classic t.v. sitcom; even though this isn't where the actual show was filmed.
