A Push-Pull Pot, in its most basic definition, is a Potentiometer, attached on top of a Switch. We refer to the switch as a DPDT (Double Pole, Double Throw) Switch. Push pull pots are essentially DPDT (double pole double throw) switches. So looking at the 6 solder terminals, C1 + C2 (C being "common") are always connected. When the push pull is in the down position, terminals 2 and 4 are also connected. When the switch is in the up position, terminals 1 and 3 are active. while 2 and 4 are switched off.
